The County of San Diego's Aging and Independence Services (AIS) connects older adults, people with disabilities, and family caregivers with programs and services. They offer free in-home assessments, information and referral, IHSS support, caregiver resources, and more. A strong first call if you don't know where to start.

Financial Assistance
IHSS is a California Medi-Cal program that pays for in-home care for eligible low-income older adults and people with disabilities. It can cover a substantial number of hours per month and can pay family members — including adult children and spouses — to provide care. Veterans Resources
The VA Caregiver Support Program provides resources, training, peer mentorship, and — for eligible post-9/11 veterans' caregivers — a monthly stipend through the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC).
